BAGS AND BOXES

Who doesn’t enjoy opening a package?! Be it a box of those special chocolates you’ve saved until Christmas afternoon or a handwritten envelope that drops through the letterbox. Even if you know what’s under the layers, that satisfaction of peeling away a sticker in one smooth strip is pure joy. Now that I know that, I wanted to bring that joy to opening one of my packages; that feeling of, YEEEEAH it’s arrived!

I do hope we’re in a day and age where we really give consideration into what materials we choose to pack our products, especially a package that contains 100% natural wool. So it goes without saying that I wanted to use a paper based bag or box. It took a while to find the correct dimensions, with the correct materials and the correct quantities, but I found the perfect paper bag ideal for holding the precious goods. I had the bags, now to make them a little less sack-like!

Fun facts:
- 3 ply making the bag super strong and perfect to be reused as storage sacks
- It’s biodegradable
- and it's recyclable
- Bottom stitching is Polyester/Viscose

To bring that joy to your face, I needed to make sure that you knew where the bag come from. I wanted to add my signature to the bags. Having an image pre printed added £££ and also where’s the fun in that. With some thinking out loud, it was obvious that I needed to print them. As you can see I’m no printer, but I’ll be honest I love it. I enjoy taking some time away from the loom to hand print each individual bag or box. Every reveal is different. Some haven’t fully printed, adding a unique stamp to finish of the final product. After printing my name, letting them dry, I then go on to print the full stop in red.

As they make their way out into the world, I not only hope that you get that joy when the package arrives, but I also hope that the bag will be reused. Sat in the corner of a room holding toys, or used to wrap up some other precious gift. Packaging might be ripped open by a number of us, but this one is a keeper!
